As mb said is correct..the berries it produces is said to be able to kill a horse..We had to have the neighbors sueed to remove thiers that dropped leaves and berries over our fence line due to our dog(that is now 17 years old) ingested some of the leaves and just almost died due to this...He would not remove it simply by asking so he got sued for a 4,000.00 vet bill and another 3,000.00 for the emotional distress caused to my wife and I to bring our dog back to normal...They are just as poisonious to humans as well, so if you have kids are have friends that come over with small children, which do like to put foreign objects in thier mouth..beware for you can actually be charged with involuntary manslaughter if someone dies from this...In the old days oleander poisoning was not able to be traced and it was the favorite for "black widows"..to eliminate thier spouse by loading thier food/drinks with a boiled oleander tea within it..
