White Oleander project ideas?

What are some good project ideas to offer a class reading the book White Oleander by Janet Fitch?

I am finding it a bit difficult to come up with any good ides :-(

You're thoughts are greatly appreciated!

White Oleander project ideas?
You could divide them into groups to look at the various aspects of the differences between the technology of writing and the technology of film. (This would, of course, necessitate them seeing the movie.)

Another idea: The main character goes through several different 'personality' phases. The students could come up with poems or songs or something that represent each different phase.

The students could create little suitcase art pieces (like the girl does at the end of the movie, if you need a visual) that represent A) the phases of the girl's life, B) the different people she lives with, C) anything else you find interesting.

I love this kind of stuff. :-)

Good luck!
