Planting Oleander?

I want an oleander hedge. I bought some "Hardy Red Oleander" from LOWE's which is supposed to be fast growing. It says to plant 6'-10' feet apart. I want to be certain to have a solid wall so I'm planting them 6' apart. Do I measure that distance between the bases of the plants or somewhere else?

Planting Oleander?
All good answers, but dont forget that oleander is extremely poisonous.

Good luck
Reply:I would measure from the trunk of one plant to the next. Good Luck!
Reply:we have some of these....measure from the center of the first plant and go 5' on center, they r not very thick plants but great color
Reply:did you know you can grow them from cuttings?just put the cuttings in water and they will root. it took my a few months though. i like to start my plants from a twig so i can watch them grow.someone told me to add willow tree twigs to it and they would root faster.dont know how true it is.someday i'd love to sell my own plants.
