What can I plant to replace oleander?

I have many oleander plants that provide privacy in my backyard, however they are poisonous (I have a curious 2-year-old) and they are growing a bit out of control. I'd like to have them all pulled, but then replaced with something. I'd like something that is low maintenance and tall enough to provide privacy...any suggestions?

Crape Myrtles can be kept as bushes or let them grow into trees.
Reply:Nandinas the are bushy and provide birds with berries in the winter and the color is beautiful.
Reply:Hi, Try Dave's Garden. You can ask questions about plants in your zone and have locals answer you.. Plus read about their experiences with varying plants also there's pictures of different plants by common name and latin names. Good luck folks are really nice there I love it.
